Frequently asked questions
- How are numbers detected?
- With type detection on, a cell becomes a number only if nothing would be lost. 42 becomes a number, while 007, 1.10, 1e5 and integers too large for JSON numbers to hold exactly stay as strings.
- How are empty cells handled?
- With type detection on, an empty cell becomes null. With it off, every value is a string and empty cells are empty strings.
- What if column names repeat?
- Repeats get a number, so two name columns become name and name_2. No data is overwritten.
- Does it support semicolons and tabs?
- Yes. Automatic detection checks for commas, tabs, semicolons and pipes in the first row, or you can choose one.
