JSONL to CSV Converter
Convert a JSONL file to CSV for Excel, Google Sheets or a database import. Nested objects become dotted columns, and records with different fields line up correctly.
Runs entirely in your browser. Your file is never uploaded. How this works
Example
This JSONL:
{"id":1,"user":{"name":"Ada"},"tags":["a","b"]}
{"id":2,"user":{"name":"Lin"},"score":9}Becomes this CSV:
id,user.name,tags,score
1,Ada,"[""a"",""b""]",
2,Lin,,9Frequently asked questions
- How are nested objects handled?
- Nested objects become dotted column names, so {"user":{"id":1}} produces a user.id column. Arrays stay in one cell as JSON text.
- What if records have different fields?
- The converter scans the whole file first to find every field, then writes them all as columns. A record missing a field gets an empty cell.
- What happens to invalid lines?
- They are skipped, and the result tells you how many were skipped and where the first one was.
- Will Excel open a very large result?
- Excel stops at 1,048,576 rows, so a larger CSV will not load fully. Split the file first if you need it in Excel.
